About Me

Sierra Scales Exotics is woman owned and specializes in breeding various ball python morphs, and dwarf rats. I have been keeping reptiles for 21 years, I started with a sweet leopard gecko who just recently passed at 21 years old.

I started my ball python breeding hobby in 2020 when I realized how much I absolutely loved these animals. I have just finished my first successful breeding season and it has been so rewarding. I give all my snakes, including the breeders, enrichment such as plastic plants, paper towel tubes, rocks, and they each have a hides. I breed my own feeders for my snakes and make sure the feeders' diet is optimized for the health of the snakes eating them.

I also breed quality dwarf rats with dumbo ears and top ears. Coat varieties include harley, velveteen, rex, double rex, satin, and standard coat types. Marking varieties include berkshire, self, variegated, dalmatian, capped, hooded, blazed, burmese, siamese, and himalayan. My dwarf rats get high quality food, veggies, fruits and more. They are bred considering health, temperament, and color/ coat types. My rats are provided with lots of enrichment and handling. They all go through temperament tests and socializing before being adopted out to a new home.

Isopods are a new breeding project I have started. I currently breed Cubaris sp. (Rubber Duckies), Porcellio dialatatus (Giant Canyon), Porcellio laevis (Dairy Cow), Porcellio scabers, and Armadillidium vulgare.

In addition to my breeding projects I also keep a Nicaraguan Dwarf Boa, a California Kingsnake, two kenyan sand boas, and a Halmahera Blue Tongued Skink.

I pride myself in keeping my animals in the most humane conditions possible, with plenty of enrichment, quality food, and love. The health and happiness of my animals comes first, always.
